Dr. Kristine Barlow-Stewart AM is a globally respected genetic counselling expert and bioethics leader, currently serving as Senior Research Genetic Counsellor at the Children’s Cancer Institute and Lowy Cancer Research Centre, UNSW. A trailblazer in the field, she was Australia’s first HGSA-certified Genetic Counsellor and has shaped the profession through her foundational roles in education, policy, and practice. Her latest research addresses one of precision medicine’s most complex ethical frontiers: the return of raw genomic data and biospecimens to families participating in pediatric cancer trials. Through the nationally significant ZERO Childhood Cancer Program, Dr. Barlow-Stewart developed the first internationally recognized, ethically approved policy and process framework for fulfilling data return requests. This was achieved through iterative literature review, a multi-round Delphi expert consensus, and consumer consultations, culminating in a model that balances autonomy, reciprocity, and clinical responsibility. The framework sets a new global standard for participant-centered data governance in genomic medicine. With over 170 publications and numerous accolades—including the 2021 inaugural Australian Genetic Counsellor of the Year and Member of the Order of Australia (2022)—Dr. Barlow-Stewart continues to lead at the intersection of ethics, policy, and psychosocial impact in pediatric cancer genomics.

Prof. Dr. Eman M. Othman Sholkamy is currently serves as Group Leader and Director of Preclinical and Phase I & II Clinical Trials at the Cancer Therapy Research Center (CTRC), Biocenter, University of Wuerzburg, Germany and as a Professor of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Minia University, Minia, Egypt. She holds a Habilitation in Biochemistry (Privatdozentin) from the University of Wuerzburg and a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology. With more than 22 years of academic and research experience across Germany, Egypt, KSA and the United States, Dr. Sholkamy has over eight years of industrial experience through active collaborations with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including Immunolux International, Genelux Corporation, Calidi Biotherapeutics (USA) and others. Her research focuses on cancer therapy, oncolytic virotherapy, immunomodulation, bioinformatics, and the molecular interplay between cancer and metabolic diseases. She has authored more than 46 peer-reviewed publications, supervised numerous MSc and PhD students, and serves on the editorial boards of several international journals. Her scientific achievements have been recognized with multiple international grants and awards, including the 2025 Theodor Boveri Recognition Award from the University of Wuerzburg.

Dr. Jingmei Jiang is a leading Professor of Biostatistics at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the School of Basic Medicine, Peking Union Medical College in Beijing. Her research focuses on the spatial epidemiology of environmental exposures and cancer, with a particular emphasis on integrated air and surface water pollution risk. Dr. Jiang’s groundbreaking work has introduced a unified spatial evaluation system for co-pollution and established robust “dose–response” relationships linking environmental degradation to cancer incidence across China. Her recent study of 377 million individuals across 30 provinces demonstrated that nearly 63,000 cancer cases annually can be attributed to environmental co-exposure, reshaping national discourse on environmental governance. A prolific scholar with over 80 SCI-indexed publications—including works with impact factors exceeding 30—Dr. Jiang has co-authored four internationally acclaimed academic monographs and compiled two foundational English textbooks in medical statistics. Janusz Rak, MD, PhD is a Professor of Pediatrics and Jack Cole Chair in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at McGill University and Investigator at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RIMUHC). His laboratory investigates how oncogenic events deregulate tumour microenvironment, orchestrate intercellular communications and trigger vascular alterations and systemic vascular paraneoplastic syndromes in cancer. The focal point of these studies are processes mediated by the exchange of extracellular vesicles (EVs), including exosomes carrying oncogenic, diagnostic and therapeutic cargo. He published over 220 research papers (41,000 citations, h-index 86). He currently directs the CFI funded program – Centre for Applied Nanomedicine (CAN) and the NET program sponsored by Fondation Charles Bruneau and CIBC to investigate EV-based liquid biopsy approaches in pediatric cancer, as well as projects supported by Canadian Institutes of Health Research and other sources. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.

Dr. Yu’s innovative translational research on molecular mechanisms of breast cancer initiation, progression, metastasis and therapeutic resistance has led to several successful multi-center phase I/II clinical trials. Over the past three decades, her high impact research was published in >200 papers (h-Index 91 by Google Scholar), including papers in Nature, Nature Medicine, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Communications, Cell, Cancer Cell, Molecular Cell, Cancer Discovery, Cell Res., Science Translat.
